Vivian has always been the type to be very curious and focused on her goals. Some might even call her a bit obsessive about growing plants... but she never lets it consume her, it's just hard to tear herself away from something she really enjoys. At times this can lead her to getting tunnel vision, but all she needs is a little something or someone to snap her out of it. Vivian has high hopes for not just her future by the world and people/pokemon's future as well, so she want to do everything she can to make it a better one. She's also very creative and clever when it comes to solving issues... she prefers solutions considered "outside the box" so is honestly more of an imaginative person than an analytical one. This hasn't hindered her so far, though, so she's seen little reason to change her way of doing things.

Vivian's biggest hurdle, undoubtadly, comes from what people call her "strangeness". She can be incredibly melodramatic and though she doesn't truly feel or believe the way she acts, it can be off putting to others or make those with more mellow personalities dislike interacting with her. She can also, at times, be very into her love of plants and horticultury which makes it difficult to interact with others who aren't as into it or simply don't care... but Vivian does try to tone it down around others. Her distrust over people through the years has also made her very stubborn. If she believes someones ideas aren't that good or disagrees entirely, she will be very difficult to move. While not arrogant she can sometimes think too highly of her own ideas.

Habits:

• When he's nervous or has something on his mind he tends to subconsciously start messing with his hair. Typically this just takes the form of him rubbing a lock between his fingers or twirling it around, but it's a good way to tell if something is bothering him or if he's lost in a world of his own.
• In middle school, when his mental health was at its worst, Chase dyed his hair completely black for the first time. He originally did so because he couldn't stand seeing himself in a mirror, as the only thing he would see was the image of his dad. Once his mental health improved he decided to keep most of his hair its natural color, but he still liked dying his hair so kept part of it dyed. The black is a reminder to not go back to what he was like in middle school, but he does like playing with other colors too! He doesn't, however, like dying ALL of his hair anymore.
• It could be paranoia or just a desire to help others, but Chase always carries things with him that can be used if someone is in trouble. Things like bandages, over the counter medication, anti-septic wipes, almost anything you'd find in a first aid kit... as well as feminine hygiene products. His sister Lanette was mostly the reason for this early on, but it eventually just became a habit.

Chase's Relationships

Melt Hart: If Vivian were being honest she didn't know what to think of Melt at first. Originally she wasn't very fond of him, as he had a clear track record of being dishonest, but the more they interacted the more Vivian realized his dishonesty was different from the kind she usually encountered. If anything, much like acting strange was her defense mechanism, lying was his. It only occured to her later that the two were outcasts in their own right... so why not stick together if that was the case? Of course getting through to Melt wasn't so easy but perserverance seemed to do the trick. The two are very good friends... and Vivian finds him fun to tease!

Goals:

• Discover, catalogue, grow, and find a way to enhance through crossbreeding every important plant on Nozama
• Find or create berries/other plants that can better help people and pokemon in a variety of ways
• Learn more about landscaping and how to decorate beautiful and relaxing outside areas. For the emotional support of others, of course.

Dreams:

• Live in a house surrounded by all kinds of plants she grew herself
• Breed every kind of berry available... and maybe discover new varieties!
• Make people and pokemon happier and their lives better through her work

Nozama being an island with not much known about it is incredibly fascinating to Vivian because of the opportunities it presents. New possible plant breeds means new possible medicines... or new delicious berries to discover! Her first and foremost goal is to discover every kind of plant native to Nozama that one can't find anywhere else. From that point she'll branch out to other avenues, but there's no telling what the future will bring.

Extrinsic Motivation:

• Acknowledgement and happiness from others who enjoy what comes from what she grows
• Unique flavors of berries that can make new delcious foods
• Less frustration with plants dying due to disease or insects when crossbred to be resistant

Intrinsic Motivation:

• Proving to herself that she's more than just someone "weird". She can change lives if she wants to
• Excitement and satisfaction when experiments are a success and the things she grows bloom
• Curiosity being satisfied

Vivian very much knows what she wants and why she does things. From a young age she learned to be true to herself and believes that to be the fastest way to happiness, so she won't stop what she's doing even if someone tells her to. This belief is only reinforced when she sees someone enjoying the fruits of her labor.

Secrets:

• Vivian used to heavily dislike people. Hatred might've been too strong of a word, but she couldn't understand them. She's gradually gotten over this but still feels ashamed about it
• Because she can't handle horror well Vivian tends to stay away creepy places at night... including any forests. She has a love hate relationship with ghost pokemon.

Fears:

• Mild fear of physical pain and doesn't have a great tolerance for it. She's never broken a bone and hopes to keep things that way
• Although she's used to it and expects it, Vivian still fears abandonment. Her pokemon partners are very dear to her because of this.
• Theft of her work and it being passed off as someone elses

» He has some talent in music; particularly when it comes to playing guitar and singing. It was one of the ways he'd often cheer himself up when feeling down.

» Most of the time Chase is a pretty good actor and liar, but he struggles to lie to people he cares about if he feels the lie will hurt them.

» Chase knows sign language! He has a friend who's mute and dislikes communicating through written word, so he and another friend took the time to learn sign language to communicate with her.

» Chase has a bit of fear involving the ocean and, as such, usually refuses to swim in it. This does not extend to other bodies of water however.

» Chase suffers from insomnia, but is also a bit of an early bird. As you can imagine this can make him exhausted most days, but he's trying to work on it. Getting up early is important though as he likes to go running then.

» Symbolism meanings: Deer symbolize "Kind, loving, profound change". Lotus symbolizes "creation, rebirth, and the sun". Fire Opal symbolizes "Adversity cannot crush thee".
